Cube 2020 - New Models + Updates - Stereo Hybrid 120, 140 + 160.

Cube have revamped many models for 2020 including their ever popular E-MTB range. Brand new Carbon frames for the Stereo Hybrid 120, 140 and 160 models means cleaner lines, better integration and weight savings and with all but one bike in the range coming with the new 625wh Bosch PowerTube battery, range is up by over 20%.

The 2020 Stereo frames have been redesigned from the ground up around the new Bosch CX motor and 625wh in-tube battery, this means some sleek looking bikes which would need a double take to realise they're even ebikes. This also allows for clever cable routing inside a box section within the frame to allow stress-free repairs and upgrades. Geometry has also had an upheaval on all Stereo models, with the current trend being long, low and slack, the 2020 Cube's do not disappoint. The 160 and 140 models see the biggest changes with longer reach, shorter stems, a slack 65 degree head angle, a steeper seat angle and a shorter chainstays courtesy of the new Bosch motor. One huge leap for the Stereo is the introduction of 29er wheels across the whole range and from the test ride we had in Germany, we can see why. This added roll-over make perfect sense with ebikes with the benefits definitely out-weighing any downside of the bigger wheels.

As always, Cube have thrown a plethora of high end parts on these new bikes with the range topping SLT models having the new SRAM AXS wireless shifting, Lyric Ultimate forks, NEWMEN wheelsets and a smattering of Carbon Fibre parts. There are two stand out models, firstly the Stereo Hybrid 160 SL, this is the first bike in the 160 range but, at £4000.00, is probably the best value for money, again Cube showering the bike in only the best kit from a Lyric fork, SRAM Eagle 12 speed, Magura 4-pot brakes and brand new ACID 160mm cranks for better clearance. Next up is the Stereo Hybrid 140 TM, this model having the same progressive geometry as the Stereo 160 model but with slightly more manageable 150mm front travel and 140 rear.
